The Young Lawyers’ Division (YLD) of the Bucks County Bar Association prides itself as being one of the most active organizations within the Bar. As an added benefit to membership in the bar association, all lawyers who are under 38 years of age or who have been practicing law for less than five years receive membership in the division. All YLD members are encouraged to actively participate in the division.

WELCOME FROM THE CHAIR

Fellow Attorneys,

On behalf of the Bucks County Bar Association Young Lawyers' Division (YLD), I would like to welcome you to the YLD website.

The YLD is comprised of more than 120 members who are all either under the age of 38 or in the profession for five years or less. The goal of the division is to provide professional development opportunities to the newer members of the bar association. Some of the ways that we achieve that goal are by working to ensure that our members have access to CLE courses that focus on issues that are pertinent them, organizing networking events that allow our members to meet and form relationships with attorneys and members of the business community and voicing the opinions and concerns of our members to the other bar association leaders.

The YLD is very active in the bar association and the community. On an annual basis, the division sponsors and holds the Bucks County Division of the Pennsylvania High School Mock Trial Competition. The division also routinely schedules social events which serve as excellent networking opportunities for the members.

The YLD Executive Committee welcomes the active involvement of all YLD members. Please feel free contact us should you have any questions about the YLD or to discuss how you can become more involved in the division.

We look forward to meeting you at an upcoming YLD event.

Sincerely,

Daniel M. Keane, Esq.
YLD Chair, 2010 – 2011

Mission Statement:

The Mission Statement of the Young Lawyers Division is to serve as a source of social and professional interaction for young lawyers outside the confines of the practices in which they work, to provide opportunities for: (a) legal and non-legal service to the Bucks County community; (b) networking in looking for jobs/changing jobs; (c) learning effective practice techniques from one another; (d) discovery of the benefits of membership of the Bucks County Bar Association; (e) development of rapport and relationships with peers and potential opponents, thereby creating a foundation for civility in the Bar; and (f) for leadership training opportunities.
