Lawyer Referral Service of Bucks County Bar Association
What is the Lawyer Referral Service?
LRS is a service provided by the Bucks County Bar Association to help the public obtain quality legal representation.
How Does LRS Work?
When you call LRS, our helpful representatives will listen to your legal problem. An appointment is then made for you with an attorney in your area who is experienced in dealing with legal problems like
yours. You will only be charged $40 for this meeting - a fraction of what such a meeting would cost if you met with the attorney without using LRS.
Who are the attorneys who participate in LRS?
All attorneys participating in LRS are members in good standing of the Bucks County Bar Association.
Does the LRS offer pro bono or reduced rates?
Yes, but you will need to qualify for pro bono or a reduced rate, contact Legal Aid for civil cases: 215-781-1111 or the Public Defender for criminal case: 215-348-6473.
What should I bring to this meeting?
Bring any documents, photographs or other evidence which you think will be helpful to the attorney in understanding your problem.
What should I talk about at this meeting?
Describe the problem you are having in detail to the attorney. The attorney will not discuss your problem with anyone else, so try to be as open and honest as possible. The attorney will probably have
some questions for you and will provide suggestions on how your problem may be resolved.
What happens after I meet with the attorney?
If you determine that you wish to retain the attorney to help you, you can hire the attorney and he or she will represent you at their normal hourly rate. The Bar Association does not set attorney hourly
rates only the attorney does. For your information, these rates can range from $85 - $250 per hour, depending on the attorney and the nature of your case. You should discuss this with the attorney. If
you do not retain the attorney, there is no other cost to you.
