Doylestown, PA – Grace M. Deon, Esq. helped to preserve a third piece of Bucks County legal history in as many years. A judicial portrait of the late Honorable Donald W. VanArtsdale was recently gifted to the County of Bucks by his estate.
Family members, former colleagues and law clerks were on hand for the unveiling ceremony held in the Justice Center’s Ceremonial Courtroom. J. Lawrence Grim, Jr., Esq. moved for the admission of a memorial proclamation honoring Judge VanArtsdale into the minutes of the Bucks County Bar Association’s annual meeting minutes.
In 2018, Ms. Deon collaborated with local organizations to preserve a judicial portrait of the Honorable Henry Wynkoop (Court of Common Pleas of Bucks County from 1777 to 1789) painted by renowned artist Rembrandt Peale. In 2016, Ms. Deon was also a critical figure in preserving a fountain that had been previously located on the grounds of the 1812 Bucks County Courthouse. It took six months and dozens of hours but the fountain now graces the terrace of the Bucks County Bar Association for others in the community to enjoy.
Ms. Deon is a shareholder and member of Eastburn and Gray’s management committee. Her practice focuses on Employment, Commercial and Special Education litigation. She spends a considerable amount of her free time engaged in a host of philanthropic endeavors, including raising funds for local youth programs that educate children about art and historic preservation and appreciation. Ms. Deon previously served as the President of the Bucks County Bar Association.
