Jane Williams Presents at Council for Exceptional Children Annual Event

New Britain, PA Partner Jane M. Williams of Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams LLP was a featured presenter at the 2020 conference of the Pennsylvania Council for Exceptional Children (PACEC), a virtual program held in October, in collaboration with the Parent Education & Advocacy Leadership (PEAL) Center. Titled “Advocating Equity for All Learners,” the event sought to connect families and professionals to share best practices and resources for students with disabilities and special health care needs.

Williams, along with attorney Liliana Yazno-Bartle, presented “Solutions to Challenges of Providing Virtual Special Education Services,” discussing the challenges that virtual instruction introduces into the special services mix and how students, teachers and parents can face and overcome them.

PACEC’s mission is to improve the education and quality of life for children who are gifted or require special education; the PEAL Center works with families, youth and young adults with disabilities to help them understand their rights and advocate for themselves.
