May 1st is Law Day, a day to celebrate the rule of law in our society. Law Day 2017’s theme is the 14th Amendment and the Transformation of American Democracy. The 14th Amendment includes the Citizenship, Due Process, and Equal Protection clauses. Collectively, these three sections have repeatedly served as a framework to provide for the equality and liberty of all Americans.
In anticipation of Law Day, we want to encourage discussion and hear from you on social media. What do you think are our most important American values? What are examples of how these values influence our society? Which values do you most identify with? On a broader scale, what does it mean to be American?
