Pa IOLTA Board 2018 Annual Report

Dear Friends & Colleagues,

The Pennsylvania Interest on Lawyers Trust Account Board is pleased to share its 2018 Annual Report. Please distribute to your members as appropriate.

Since the inception of the Pennsylvania IOLTA program, we have been committed to supporting the delivery of free civil legal aid to low-income Pennsylvanians. In support of our mission, the Pennsylvania IOLTA Board makes annual grants to more than thirty legal aid organizations and each of Pennsylvania’s nine law schools. The full list of grantees begins on page 13.

Of special interest to the legal community, the IOLTA Board’s new Unclaimed and Unidentifiable Funds Program is featured on page 8. Additional information about the program may be found on our website at www.paiolta.org/unclaimed-funds/.

Thanks to volunteers from the private bar, legal aid is able to accept more clients and change more lives for the better. A special note of appreciation is due to the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation for its exceptional administration of the Loan Repayment Assistance Program. At a time when increasingly high levels of student loan debt make a commitment to public service extremely difficult, the LRAP makes it possible for legal aid organizations to retain the best and brightest attorneys.

Going forward, we will continue to seek out creative and cost efficient partnerships across the legal community that will maximize the impact of our grants. We look forward to exploring ways to continue to support our bar association partners in meeting our shared goal of equal access to justice for all.

If you have any questions about the work of the Pennsylvania IOLTA Board, please do not hesitate to contact me at Stephanie.Libhart@pacourts.us or 717-238-2001.

Sincerely,

Stephanie
